Wuxi Wondery Releases Advanced 1000T/Year Oxygen-Free Copper Rod Upcast Line 

WUXI WONDERY INDUSTRY EQUIPMENT CO., LTD. proudly announces the launch of its upgraded 1000-ton-per-year upcast oxygen-free copper rod continuous casting production line, engineered to meet the rising global demand for high-conductivity, oxygen-free copper rod, copper tube, and special-section copper products. Designed for stable production, high precision, and long-term reliability, the system integrates Wondery’s advanced melting, holding, casting, and take-up technologies into a fully optimized production solution.

The production line is equipped with a 150 kg / 45 kW melting furnace and a 45 kW holding furnace, enabling efficient melting and smooth temperature control. The upcast machine features two continuous casting heads, allowing the system to produce φ8–16 mm OFC copper rod at an output of approximately 3 tons per day, with an annual capacity reaching 1000 tons. Driven by Yaskawa servo motors, Mitsubishi PLC, and Wondery’s advanced pitch-control software, the line ensures high accuracy, stable pulling speed, and exceptional casting quality.

The upcast unit adopts a four-column structure with a fully synchronized servo drive system. The high-precision gapless reducer, imported synchronous belt, and closed-loop pitch-control algorithm deliver precise rod pulling accuracy and stable casting quality. The level-tracking system automatically adjusts the caster height according to molten copper conditions, ensuring consistent diameter control and surface finish.

The take-up machine uses Siemens motors and Schneider inverters, enabling fully synchronized variable-speed take-up. Equipped with tension sensors and automatic wire-arranging functions, each take-up disk can accommodate more than 3 tons of copper rod, ensuring uninterrupted production.

Efficient Melting & Temperature Control

The dual power-frequency induction melting and holding furnaces utilize high-grade silicon steel, precision-wound coils, and quartz-sand-compacted insulation. Multi-stage voltage adjustment (90–380 V) allows operators to fine-tune melting rates and furnace temperature. The system’s intelligent temperature control, dual-mode (manual/automatic) voltage regulation, and power-factor compensation ensure stable operation throughout the production cycle.
